EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees must undergo preventive checkups to assess their ability to work. These are performed by a doctor specified by the employer for performance of Occupational Health Services (OHS).
Free choice of doctor has been ruled out for OHS (§ 9(2)).
The ruling out of free choice of doctor does not apply to other preventive medical care, which for example includes assessment of temporary inability to work. For these cases, the employee is free to choose his own doctor, and the employer does not have the right to restrict his or her choice.
